Kamloops Producing Award Winning Technology Companies

October 27, 2017 – Kamloops, BC

Last week, two technology companies were recognized at the Kamloops Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards for their innovative solutions and contributions to the technology industry.

Kamloops was built on traditional industries like the resources sector, manufacturing, and mining. Today, these industries are adopting new technologies and exploring innovation. Streamline, a division of Arrow Transportation and recipient of the BCLC Technology Innovator Award, provides innovative solutions for transportation logistics. Their product Navistream, helps transport companies track their fleets efficiently to maximize productivity, performance and compliance and increase driver safety while saving on fuel and maintenance.

Axis Forestry, the recipient of the Venture Kamloops Resource Industry Award, is a technology company that serves logging contractors worldwide by manufacturing aftermarket parts for tree processor attachments and rebuilding them. They listened to the needs of their customers to develop and manufacture new equipment for the resource industry.

“Kamloops’ tech industry has leveraged the opportunities right in our backyard,” says Lincoln Smith, Executive Director at Kamloops Innovation, “companies like Axis Forestry and Streamline are driving our industry forward, creating jobs, and developing award winning technology.”

Both Streamline and Axis Forestry’s successes demonstrate that innovation is everywhere, with opportunities in the traditional sectors that Kamloops was built on.

“This award recognizes the work that we’re doing to make the transportation logistics industry more efficient, safe, and a step ahead of the rest,” says Nicolas Bouchon, VP Product Development at Streamline, “the support and resources from the Kamloops technology community have helped us make a significant impact.”

Katipult, a global company with an office in Kamloops was also a finalist for the BCLC Technology Innovator Award for their leadership in crowdfunding software and fintech industry in Canada.
