DevDrinks is an evening for developers, programmers, and members of the tech community to get together and learn about a selected topic within their industry. Following a 20-30 minute presentation there is an open discussion.
We opened the evening by asking if any of the companies present were hiring, if they knew anyone who was hiring, or if anyone was looking for work. When you have that many representatives from the tech community in one room, there’s bound to be some networking!
May’s DevDrinks saw Tyler Eastman presenting about Agile Programming and was an interesting look at the agile business process, and it’s benefits to both the client as well as the programmers.
Hon. Dr. Terry Lake was among the participants and showed a keen interest in Tyler’s overview and update on current projects, noting how impressed he was that initiatives started 3 years ago are now coming to fruition. Developers from Visual Statement, Exodus, Memory Leaf and TRU rounded out the crowd.
Following the presentation we kicked back with a casual dinner and there was lively conversation about Agile Programming and a quick tour of Kamloops Innovation for our guests who haven’t had a chance to check it out yet.
Do you have a suggestion for a DevDrinks topic? Let us know about it, we’re always looking to learn more and keep offering these great events to our community! Stayed tuned for information about our next DevDrinks event!
