Kamloops Innovations COVID-19 Response
TL;DR Social Distancing (staying at home) is a HUGE contribution toward keeping our community safe. If you are in the fortunate position to be able to work remotely, you should.
Kamloops Startup Community,
Kamloops Innovation has chosen to close its doors and is supporting our staff to pursue remote working arrangements while our community, country, and world deals with mitigating COVID-19.
In an effort to help “flatten the curve”, we urge ventures to follow the leadership of the many notable companies in Kamloops and Canada who have closed their business for the time being and moved their operations online.
Broadly speaking, technology companies are uniquely positioned to make these changes. Other workers and businesses in our community are not as fortunate. Consider strongly taking advantage of being able to stay home in support of those who can not.
Our individual actions will not stop COVID-19 at this point in the pandemic but they can slow the spread so that our emergency services are not overwhelmed.
We will be postponing all in-person community events, workshops and innovator meetups until further notice. Kamloops Innovation is busy moving these activities to a virtual environment and creating other ways for community members to engage and remain connected.
As we move forward over the next few months, we will embrace this time as an opportunity to reflect on our events, programming and engagement to create even better experiences for our community in the future. Stay tuned!
